故事发生在洋溢着青春气息的神奈川高中内，祇园健次（千叶翔也 配音）是刚刚进入这所学校就读的高一新生，在阴差阳错之下，他结识了名为石清水澄明（安达勇人 配音）的男生。石清水澄明虽然拥有高大壮硕的身材，性格却格外的懦弱胆小，刚进学校没多久就遭到了高年级同学的霸凌，健次身材娇小，但脾气却很爆，多亏了有他的帮助，石清水澄明才勉强脱身，健次也因此得到了加入橄榄球社团的契机，成为了一名橄榄球预备队员。 　　在球队里，健次结识了很多志同道合的伙伴，最为年长德高望重的赤山濯也（细谷佳正 配音）、整天笑嘻嘻的好好先生八王子睦（逢坂良太 配音）以及拥有丰富的比赛经验，性格十分傲慢的大原野越吾（小野贤章 配音）。
